The UK has blessed us with some of the most influential and, frankly, most incredible music out there.  The Beatles, Radiohead, Muse and Coldplay are just a few of the names that come to mind when thinking of the contribution the country has made to the music world. It’s no wonder, then, that there are so many incredible indie bands like Nishe, attempting to follow in their footsteps.

The London formed band is comprised of Giovanni Zappa (lead vocals, guitar, electronics), Harold Wilson (bass, backing vocals) and Thomas Romer-Smith (drums). Like their names, their  sound is very unique and complex. Sharing some similarities with The Kooks and The Arctic Monkeys (especially the album AM), Nishe produces exceptionally catchy tunes that combine fun guitar riffs and really gritty sounds.

You Got Me Blind is everything you could want in a single. Zappas vocals are melodic and entrancing and I’m sure he will have fans swaying with delight at their shows. Followed up by a big, rhythmic chorus, the track is irresistible.

Like their influences, though, no two tracks sound identical. This Time is more energetic and upbeat, and has almost a groovy, reggae vibe. Not to mention the sexy guitar solo at about 1:40 that will have any listener digging the sound.

Their live shows are soulful and passionate, as if the boys are truly enjoying jamming together up there on stage. As of now, you’ll have to make your way to the UK to see them, but I’m pretty confident these guys will be making their mark in the music industry in no time, so just hang tight, Americas! Nishe is definitely an up and coming band to keep an eye – and an ear – on.
